Debaser is a Sydney based design studio specialising in creative direction for the music industry. Founded in 2003 by graphic designers David Homer and Aaron Hayward, Debaser has developed artwork and imagery for a wide variety of Australian and New Zealand artists, including Powderfinger, Empire Of The Sun, Bluejuice, Tim Finn, The Cat Empire, Pete Murray, Something For Kate and Paul Kelly, to name just a few. We pride ourselves on our ability to work closely with artists, management and record companies to deliver innovative concepts and memorable branding.
We have been nominated for the Best Cover Art ARIA Award 8 times, and have won the award three times for our work on the multi platinum albums: Powderfinger’s "Dream Days At The Hotel Existence", Bernard Fanning’s "Tea & Sympathy", and most recently, Empire Of The Sun's debut album "Walking On A Dream". In July 2010, we also won the inaugural ANNDAS international Design Award for our work on the Empire Of The Sun album.
Work Experience:
Debaser is happy to give work experience placements for students, however, due to the high number of requests we get, and our work schedule, we have a very limited number of places available. If you're interested in doing work experience here, please send a pdf of your work along with some information about yourself.
